Charles Massie “C.M.” Bibb and family lived across the road from the Ryalls at 1615 Woolen Mills Road. C.M.’s father, John Lewis Bibb worked in the mill but C.M. was a railroad man, a bridge construction foreman.

In 1920 he lived here with his wife, three sons and a daughter. This is the first household we have encountered that contains not one Woolen Mills’ employee. Why would C.M. choose to live in the mill village?
